Research interests
We have designed various functional materials from the viewpoint of bioorganic chemistry. In particular, ratinal designed artificial receptors and enzymes have been studied by spectroscopic analyses.
Artificial Anion Receptors
We have designed artificial anion receptors bearing hydroxy groups.
Chromofluororeceptors Based on Biaryl and their Derivatives
2,2'-Binaphthalene bearing recognition sites at 8- and 8'-positions shows characteristic UV-visible and fluorescence changes upon the addition of appropriate guest species due to the restriction of conformational change. We have designed and synthesized 2,2'-binaphthalene-based receptors.
Silanol-Based Receptors
Silanols (Si-OH) have been rarely utilized in molecular recognition. We have designed artificial anion receptor bearing silanol groups as hydrogen bond donor.
